JUNIOR GATHERINGS
Documents
For several years the Society has been encouraging our youngsters to become more involved in our hobby, starting the now very popular Junior Jottings section in our "News" magazine and also holding Juniors events. We now hold Junior days where they can run their engines or just join in the fun of operating a railway. Look out in this section or the EVENTS lists for a Junior day near you.
JUNIOR DAYS FOR 2013
Our Junior Days for 2013 will be held at three locations this year and we look forward to seeing at one or more of them
11 May at Harrow and Wembley SME - www.hwsme.org
20 July at Hereford SME - www.hsme.co.uk
7 September at Leyland SME - www.leylandsme.co.uk
which are all on Saturdays from 10.00 until 5.00 -
Although they are all in our summer bring your wet weather gear
To attend any of these please complete the booking form or forms which you will find below.
Please fill them out clearly and send them to me as soon as possible
You may join us as long as you have not had your 17th birthday yet and you must be accompanied by one parent or responsible adult per junior attending. If you have an engine of your own then please bring it, if not, don’t worry, we would still love to see you there
Please note - you do not have to be a member of the Seven and a Quarter gauge society to come to one of our Junior Days and we really do welcome both boys and girls
The Junior Days not only encourage young people to be aware and careful at miniature railways but also encourage an understanding of driving safely. Also of course we show how being part of a model engineering society or a miniature railway society can give a great deal of pleasure, confidence and encouragement to the young person
As it is not always possible for youngsters to travel long distances we are always pleased to hear from anyone who could kindly offer a venue for a similar event
Encouraging youngsters to become involved in our hobby not only ensures its continuation but gives them worthwhile enjoyment
If your organisation would like to hold an event please contact Rex Mounfield at proficiency@sevenandaquarter.org and I would be pleased to hear from you
Of course if you or your parents have any questions then just email Rex at proficiency@sevenandaquarter.org
ALL members PLEASE NOTE
These events not only encouraged youngsters to drive safely but give them great pleasure, confidence and encouragement.
