Broken flue brush in tube!

Yes stupid I know but I have one tube in Otter (Thomas II variant) now blocked very solidly with a wire brush and the added problem being the twisted wire centre appears to have bent into the tube wall. Trying to drift it out from the firebox end has just succeeded in bending the other end. Anyone got any advice other than just leaving it and hoping the wire bristles will "burn" off in time?

Just to save anyone the trouble of replying; the flue tube is now clear! John Macdougall and I spent all day and finally managed it. We tried Tim Martin's idea of drifting a close fitting tube through the flue which should have taken the brush with it however the twisted wire centre of the brush had bent over and jammed against the flue wall. Eventually after a lot of frustration we put a 19mm (20mm ID flue) cylindrical cutter welded to the end of a long bar through the flue turning with a mole grip (very carefully!) and it worked!! That is a precis of a long day.

John,

You should have known better than to smack it with a drift, but I did hear earlier that you had success in the removal of your broken flue brush. Happy steaming.
