Clupet piston rings

Hi, as anyone got any hints and tips on fitting and removing Clupet piston rings, I am at the stage of fitting these to my Thomas 2, any advice would be most welcome.

1) Be careful - the ends are sharp!!
2) Smear some oil on the piston and ring before opening it up slightly and slipping it over the piston and into the groove. Be careful not to open it too far - they are strong but not indestructible.
3) Compress it lightly, but with about 0.5mm of the ring outside the compression band. Smear the bore with oil. Put the piston and edge of the ring into the cylinder, then hit the end of the piston hard with a soft faced mallet and the piston and ring are now in the bore.
That's it.
