Elidir Hunslet loco wheels (71/4")

Hi All...... does anyone know where we can obtain a set of loco driving wheels for our Hunslet ? Many thanks Brian M

Brian, Reeves 2000 supply Elidir parts and drawings etc.

If you are replacing existing wheels had you thought to just fit steel tyres? The increased traction is worth the effort in my experience.

Hi Bob many thanks for your swift response, thanks also for the suggestion but the flanges are well worn so we will have to go for new wheels I guess....best wishes Brian M

Brian new tyres will replace the flanges too. I did it on Jill a few years back for that very reason, razorblade flanges. I wrote it up for the News but I don't remember which issue.

No wonder I couldn't find it, it's in the smaller size mag!

Hi Brian, If you decide to go with the new steel tyres it may well be worth giving 17D Miniatures in Derbyshire a call as I understand that they will make tyres to your drawing. You machine your wheels and then shrink on the new tyres, job done.

01598 710225 they did the wheels of my Hunslet from solid steel, they are Professional Steam Engineers hope this is a help.
