ROANOKE LOCOMOTIVES

The choke on this locomotive is accessed by removing two securing bolts and then lifting the bonnet.
Has anyone devised a mechanism of operating the choke from the 'cab'.

Not sure what kind of engine they use these days, but the Honda GX160 and clones are very easy to adapt for remote choke operation. The Honda manual (which you can find very easily on the internet) shows you how to do it - all you need is a bowden cable and a couple of clips, which you can easily bend up from odd bits of steel.

Hi Peter,
The engine fitted is 'ACME' 280CC single cylinder. The choke is in the front of the power unit facing the grill. Liked to accessed it through the grill. But the grill tilts forward with the bonnet.
Next to the choke pull is the end of the throttle cable with its adjuster. The rest around this is the fuel tank.
