Can I suggest you contact Rod Burnley on 01484 713109 - myself and several other members are currently building Thomas 2's or variants using Rod's drawings. They have been proven with some already built, as per photo.

Hi mick that's fantastic thanks for the help. Have you any more photos of your loco as she looks excellent?

You're welcome. The photo isn't my loco, it's the one that Rod's apprentices built. He has more photos. Mine is nowhere near finished!

Scott,

Brian jones owns Finn MacCool and is in the members directory. I am advised not to put his details on this open forum but will send you his phone number if you e-mail me on john-a.edmonds@ic24.net

Scott.
I have just finished a Thomas Two and the pic is in the mag. If you require any further info perhaps I can assist. I built mine from rather inadequate drawings with many details missing but I beleive the drawings Mick suggests are good. I am also led to beleive that there are improvements to the valve gear on these drawings. I do not have Rods drawings.

I am in the process of building a Thomas 2 and am using a variety of drawings but especially Rod Burnleys motion drawings which have been improved to give more equal events in forward and reverse. My version is 2-4-2 with an extended spectacle plate. Rods drawings are good and his castings are very good quality and machine superbly.

Roy,
I see you have bolted on the buffer and drag beams on the loco instead of welding, this is the way i shall go as it allows the option to strip down to paint and no warping when welding, i currently have rod's drawings which i know you didnt use but on looking through them i can't tell if anything would foul by assembling with 25x25 angle, the main areas im not sure about are the stretches and brake support bracket etc, did you come across any issues yourself?
