Use of compression fittings on steam pipes

For ease of use I am considering using ordinary 1/2" plumbing compression fittings on the steam pipes to the cylinders. Does anyone have any experience with this - or comments. The pipes can't pull out as they are constrained between the cylinders

Compression fittings work a treat (certainly up to the 120psi I use them on), and are very easy to get hold of. Imperial ones tend to be more expensive than metric, and metric copper is MUCH cheaper than imperial.
But yes, do it. No problem.

Although I mentioned 1/2" above - they are metric fittings i.e. for 15mm pipe
