Vacuum ejectors

Can anyone offer some assistance in recommending where to purchase vacuum ejectors to suit 4" Hunslet, Romulus type locos. We have obtained one which is a horizontal type 1/4" pipe in/out and 3/16" pipe for vacuum. This vacuum works ok but appears to use a lot of steam and is worrying that we are wasting too much steam. I have an old T shaped ejector and the bores in the cones appear smaller but as yet I have not measured them.

At the moment the output just feeds to a tee and when you put your fingers over the holes with over 60psi on the engine it pulls over 20" Hg. If anyone because of recommending wishes to send a personal reply use the Secretary e mail which will reach me.

Many thanks

John Nicholson

John,

On all my locomotives I use vacuum ejectors from PNP and have found them to be excellent, usual disclaimer.

Also all our vacuum relief valves are set to 14"Hg, don't see any need to go higher and that reduces the amount of steam required but I'm sure you are aware of that.

I have 2 locos with PNP ejectors, they use little steam and are reliable
