I used a vinyl vehicle sign manufacturer for mine (not L.T.).

The riding truck for my loco is lettered using Letraset and varnished using artist varnish with several coats of varnish. The truck was completed in 1989 and the lettering although worn in places is still quite acceptable. It must be remembered that this is a riding truck so legs are constantly rubbing it.

The advantage of artists varnish is that it is fully transparent as opposed to commercial varnish which leaves a slight colouration.

Fox transfers do large transfers. Don't know if they do LT ones though.
