Batteries for blowers

Can anybody recommend a decent 12volt battery and charger for a blower. Car batteries seem a bit OTT and something smaller would be preferable

I would suggest it depends a bit on the requirements of your blower motor, but there are plenty of suitable batteries, from Motor cycle to burglar alarm batteries. Even one of those booster charge units for cars.

The 'gel cell' type batteries are very suitable for our miniature loco blower needs as they are comparitively light, compact and portable. Various current ratings and compact chargers are available to suit requirements. They are low-maintenance, inexpensive and can last for years. For more specific product advice, contact the Multicell company which advertises in the 'News'.

I've got a 24 volt blower and I power it using the 18 volt battery from my cordless drill. Works a treat and it is very compact. If you've already got a 12v cordless drill and charger you're home and dry.
