Bridgeport Mill

Hi all.
I have a Bridgeport mill with J head. The clock spring which returns the quill to zero has come away from the locating pin on the spindle. Does anyone know how to tension this spring. Also who keeps Brdgeport parts.
Regards.
Roger. Brittany

Hi John
A piece of cake. I emailed about 15 people on the net and got one reply from a company in America. www.bptparts.com. They sent me a paper explaining how to do it with a "special tool" which took about 5 mins to make. I followed the instructions and 5 mins later the machine was working again. G.T Pression, the company I bought the machine from has offered to send me a new spring so I will replace the old spring when it arrives. Do you want a copy of the paper.
Regards

Hi John

I have emailed the paper to you, have you got it? If not email me at lepuitsmaison@yahoo.co.uk and I will forward it on. Anyone else want a copy.

Roger
