The main event at this year's Annual Gathering and AGM at The City of Newport Model Engineering Society's Railway Site (CNMES) will start from Friday 6th September and will run until Sunday 8th September. However, members may arrive at CNMES from Thursday 5th September 2019. There will be free camping and caravan pitches but all members wishing to use these facilities must pre-book. Note Dogs under control are welcome.

Members are invited to book in their engines for running on the railway. All sizes and types of locomotive can be accommodated, the site is 7¼" and H&SE compliant with an 8mph speed limit. The mainline comprises of a 1,750 ft outer loop around the outside edge of the site with an inner Station loop of 200 ft, access to the turntable and steaming areas is from this inner loop. There is secure accommodation on site for 60 locomotives together with plenty of good tap water for locomotives. All on the run coaling, oiling and watering is carried out in the Station on the inner loop.

Drinks and snacks over the weekend are provided by the onsite catering company, payment at point of purchase.

On Friday evening there is an onsite BBQ and Sunday evening there is a onsite Curry night, these are provided by the catering company with Bar facilities, payment at point of purchase; there is no catering on Saturday Evening, local Fish & Chip shop ½ mile away (for those not attending the post AGM dinner).

The formal Annual General Meeting will take place at 4.00pm on Saturday 8th September 2019 to be held at the Indoor Bowls Centre, Glebelands Stadium, Bank Street, Newport, NP19 7HF. This will be followed by the Annual Dinner at the Indoor Bowls Centre at 7.00pm for 7.30pm @ £25.00/head; full details of menu can be found on the booking form.

All members and guests may sign in from Friday morning. For members bringing locomotives your public liability insurance certificate and boiler test certificates together with proof of current year's membership of the society/club that tested the boiler(s) and issued the insurance certificate will be inspected before they are called forward to unload. NOTE:- NO COMPLETE PAPERWORK – NO RUN. All members booking in will receive a handbook prior to their arrival that will detail how to find and get to CNMES plus all the events and running instructions for the railway and details for events during your visit. Special name badges will be issued on signing in.
