Club & Track Details

The railway at Coate Water is just under a mile long and is ground level 5" and 7 1/4" gauge. The extended track was opened in 2016 and the total length is now some 1100m (2066 ft). The track radius on the main running lines is mainly around 75ft with 60ft radius points. There are tighter curves of not less than 45ft radius on the station approach / exit and the old loop has a short length of 40ft radius on a 1:37 incline. The layout is fully colour signalled with interlocks to the points. We have a three platform station where passengers board the trains. For public running, the Coate Water Miniature Railway runs every Sunday (weather permitting!) throughout the year. We usually open around 11am and trains will be running until 5pm (4pm during winter). The price per ride is £2.00. Our website (Coate Water Railway) gives further information.
