Joining by post IS EASY - All applications for membership may be made by post and accompanied by payment of your annual subscription - currently £25 p.a. for Full UK Membership, £35p.a. for Full overseas membership, £17.50 for Emembership and £6 p.a. for Young Member. All membership is renewable on 1st January.

Full UK Membership is open to any person over 18 years of age who is interested in 7¼” or 7½” Gauge railways.

Full Overseas Membership is open to any person over 18 year of age who is interested in 7¼ or 7½" Gauge railways.

Emembership is open to any person over 18 years of age and carries all the benefits of Full Membership with the exception that all correspondence, magazines etc will be sent electronically via email or the Society website

Young Member for 5 – 21 years; those young persons under 18 will need their membership application sponsored by a Full member or agreement of the Committee. Young members may attend the A.G.M. but will not be entitled to vote. They will receive a copy of Society publications via this website. The provision of printed publications may be added to this category of membership by the payment of an additional fee. Contact the membership secretary for further details.

Membership Terms, Conditions & Rules

Terms & Conditions of Membership & the use of this Website

These Terms and Conditions shall apply to your use of this website and any other functions, gatherings or events organised or associated with the 7¼" Gauge Society Limited (Hereafter called “the society”)

We may change these Terms and Conditions from time to time and so you should check these regularly. Your use of this site will be deemed an acceptance of the terms existing at that time.

Acceptance
This Agreement sets forth the legally binding terms for your use of the society services. By using the services, and in consideration of the society providing the services to you, you agree to be bound by this Agreement, whether you are a "Visitor" (which means that you have not registered with the Website) or you are a "Member" or “Temporary User” (which means that you have registered and/or paid a membership fee/ fee). The term "User" refers to a Visitor or a Member. You are only authorized to use the Services (regardless of whether your access or use is intended) if you agree to abide by all applicable laws and to this Agreement. Please read this Agreement carefully and save it. If you do not agree with it, you should leave the Website and discontinue use of the society services immediately. If you wish to become a Member, and make use of the services available only to Members, you must read this Agreement and indicate your acceptance during the Registration process.

This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and you irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute which may arise

You agree that any use by You of the society site and our other services shall be in accordance with the following conditions:

There are four classes of paid membership available from this website:-             

Full UK Membership is open to any person over 18 years of age who is interested in 7¼” or 7½” Gauge railways.  

Full Overseas Membership is open to any person over 18 year of age who is interested in 7¼ or 7½" Gauge railways. 

Emembership is open to any person over 18 years of age and carries all the benefits of Full Membership with the exception that all correspondence, magazines etc will be sent electronically via email or the Society website

Young Membership for 5 – 21 years; those young persons under 18 will need their membership application sponsored by a full member or agreement of the Committee. Young members attend the A.G.M., but will not be entitled to vote. They will receive a copy of Society publicationsvia this website. The provision of printed publications by mail may be added to this category of membership by the payment of an additional fee. 

Any person in the family of a full member or E member (husband, wife, partner and children under 18 living in the same household) are admitted as Associate Members and may visit 7¼" Gauge Society Limited functions with the full member. Associate Members will not be entitled to vote.

The annual subscription is payable on 1^st January of each year. New members joining after 1^st October in any year will be entitled to membership in the following year free of charge.  The liability of members is limited. Every member of the Society undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Society, in the event of the same being wound up while he is a member, or within one year after he ceases to be a member, for payment of debts and liabilities of the Society contracted before he ceases to be a member, and of any costs, charges and expenses of winding up, and for the adjustment of the rights of the contributors among themselves, such amount as may be required not exceeding ONE pound sterling.

This Agreement shall remain in full force and effect while you use the services or are a Member. You may terminate your Membership at any time, for any reason, by writing to the membership secretary. The society may terminate your Membership at any time, without warning or may be removed by a majority of those present and voting at a duly convened meeting of the Committee. Provided always that no member shall be removed unless they have conducted themselves in a manner which in the discretion of the Committee is prejudicial to the interests of the Society, or has by any act or conduct made known to the Committee that they are no longer in sympathy with the aims and objects of the Society

Even after Membership is terminated, this Agreement will remain in effect as to the liabilities of members for one year.

Password
When you sign up to become a Member through the website, you will also be asked to choose a password. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. You agree not to use the account, username, or password of another Member at any time or to disclose your password to any third party. You agree to notify the society immediately by emailing secretary@sevenandaquarter.org if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or access to your password. You are solely responsible for any and all use of your account.

Society Advertising and Sponsorship.

The Publications and Website may contain advertising and sponsorship. Advertisers and sponsors are responsible for ensuring that material submitted for inclusion complies with applicable laws, codes and regulations. We exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law any responsibility for any error or inaccuracy appearing in any advertising or sponsorship material.

With regard to the society website         

In areas of our site where you can express yourself or interact with others, we ask that you stick to what is legal, tasteful and civil.

If you see something on the Website that has been posted that you think is inappropriate, please let the secretary secretary@sevenandaquarter.org  know right away.

Non-commercial Use
The services are for the personal use of users, or where specified, Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavours except where and to the extent specifically endorsed or approved by the society. Illegal and/or unauthorized use of the services, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of Members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email or unauthorised framing of or linking to the Website is prohibited. Commercial advertisements and other forms of solicitation are prohibited without the express consent of the society. Links may be removed at our discretion for any reason. Legal action maybe taken for any illegal or unauthorised use of our services or the Website.

We reserve the right to remove from the Website, without notice and at our sole discretion, any content that we consider inappropriate for the website. We may also ban, block or delete any user accounts if, according to our sole judgement, their owners or users have infringed the Agreement, any relevant rules or are using our service in a manner that we consider inappropriate.

You may not post, modify, distribute, or reproduce in any way any copyright material, trademarks, or other proprietary information belonging to others without obtaining the prior written consent of the owner of such proprietary rights. The society prohibits use of the Website and/or the Services of any User who infringes the copyright of others. Without limiting the foregoing, if you believe that your work has been copied and posted on the Website please email the secretary, stating fully the transgression.
