The Second Day of the AGM at Newport
Many locos were out again on Day 2 at Newport. The formal AGM meeting itself was well attended. Thanks were given to Janet Royston, our outgoing Chair, and our new Chair, Dr Helen Hale, was welcomed.
The Brian Reading award for excellence in model engineering, as displayed by the best model brought to an AGM, was awarded to Neil Clayton for his loco 'Sextus'. The Junior award was given to an enthusiastic young member of the riverside miniature railway. Congratulations are also due to Denise Maslen for becoming the first recipient of the proficiency scheme Gold award.
Colin Gaskins, President at Echills Wood, along with Adam Moody, formally invited the Society to hold its 2027 AGM at their site, from the 17th -19th September.
