Location: North Norfolk Date added: 5 June 2026 12:00 AM
The locomotives and rolling stock of the Norton Hill Light Railway, as viewable on YouTube, are available for sale. Everything is based on the 760mm gauge railways of Bosnia Herzegovina and comprise locomotives 83.076, an 0-8-2 tender engine and 73.019 a 2-6-2 tender engine, both built by TWA Engineering in Birmingham in 1991 and 1992 respectively to a detailed design by Bob Meanley, who later managed the mainline steam locomotive overhaul facilities at Tyseley in Birmingham. The engines are scale models of the originals (preserved in Austria) And feature working Krauss – Helmholz pony trucks to aid steering around curves and spherical bearings on coupling rods where appropriate.
In addition there are four model bogie passenger carriages with opening doors for easy access, one bogie goods van with four seats, three bogie goods wagons with longitudinal seating and two bogie goods wagons with four seats each. All carriages and wagons are air braked. The air supply comes from a battery powered compressor under the steam locomotives drivers seat.
This is an opportunity to purchase a complete set of rolling stock based on what was the largest 760mm gauge railway system in Europe if not the world.
In addition to the above I have a Milner built quarry Hunslet looking for a new home. This engine was originally built with a steel boiler but this was replaced by a copper boiler with a wider firebox than the original around 1990. Since 1992, with the arrival of the two larger engines, it has only had very limited use. This engine is fitted with vacuum brakes, and is in full running order.
Offers to purchase invited. Schumann83076@aol.com
